Sacred ꩜ Roots

Is mise Freya, creatrix behind Sacred Roots.

My connection, inspiration and deep healing from the natural world brought Sacred Roots into being.

It is my passion to support others in remembering and returning to the medicine of nature, to rewild and reconnect to the earth. Understanding we are not separate from her but deeply interconnected, and so our individual and collective wellbeing is a reflection of the earth’s.

My personal journey is where this began, through healing mental, physical + emotional imbalances, disconnection to the natural world and severance from my ancestral land in Scotland.

My connection with the earth, working with native medicinal plant allies and non native psychedelic plant medicines have been my guides + friends on this journey.

In my early twenties i had the privilege to travel across the globe and on my travels encountered the plant medicine Ceremonial Cacao in Peru. Theobroma Cacao, heart medicine from South America is recognised as a sacred medicine by indigenous people of Mesoamerica, used ceremonially some 5,000 years ago. This medicine has transformed my relationship to myself, my body and the world around me. Soon after meeting the spirit of Cacao, i began learning and exploring the world of plant medicine, specifically psychedelic plants used in traditional healing by indigenous cultures around the world.

These encounters quickly shifted the trajectory of my life, + many plant medicine ceremonies later i was guided by Grandmother Ayahuasca to reconnect to my ancestral land of Scotland and her healing medicines.

That same year, I moved back home to my wee village in rural Perthshire and made a promise to myself + the land that i would be of service to the healing balms of the Scottish isles, sharing the healing capacity of herbal medicines and reconnecting to earth.

Journeying with earths medicines quite literally saved my life and it is my passion to share what i have learned, to help others reconnect to themselves, the land and the earth.

I feel we all have our own innate healing wisdom within us and connection to the Earth supports us in the journey back to our roots. My mission is to empower others along this spiral path of healing. Combining wisdom from my own lived experience with my passion for the land and ancestral wisdom; with folk herbalism and ceremonial healing.

It is time to Rewild ourselves and reconnect to the Earth.

Remember and return to our Sacred Roots.

Sacred Roots is a journey home, to that which is sacred to us and deeply rooted. A deep remembering of our intrinsic nature, our own innate healing wisdom and our woven interconnection with the natural world, our place in the tapestry of all things.

Sacred roots medicines are wildcrafted using seasonally foraged & wild ingredients. Made by hand in small batches, in the scottish highlands, where freya has a deep connection and ancestral roots to the land.

Slow Crafted in a way our ancestors would recognise. With intention, prayer and presence I forage for herbal medicines in a sacred way. practicing reciprocity with the earth. beginning the journey with prayer to the land, the highlands of Alba; Scotland. Each remedy is inspired by the native plants of Scotland, ancestral folk practices and following the celtic wheel of the year. Offered humbly to all in hopes that they will bring us closer to ourselves and the land.

Each creation holds the prayer of Remembering the ancestral wisdom of Scotland. In my offerings you can find herbal medicinal blends, tinctures, medicinal mushrooms, elixirs and ritual earth reconnection items. These medicines are brewed off grid in the highlands, harvesting in tune with the Wheel of the year and lunar phases. Each offering containing blessings from sacred springs and wells in my valley.

With these creations may you receive healing from the wildness of Alba.
